전북대학교 문화융복합아카이빙연구소(소장 김건 교수)와 기록관리학과(학과주임 오효정 교수)가 최근 베트남 다낭 소재 듀이탄대학교(Duy Tan University) 언어·인문사회학부(한국어학전공)와 국제 교류 및 협력 강화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 각각 체결했다고 23일 밝혔다.

듀이탄대학교는 2026년 기준 QS 세계대학순위 500위 이내, THE 세계대학영향력 평가 601~800위권에 이름을 올린 베트남의 대표적인 사립 명문대학이다. 실무 중심 교육을 바탕으로 국제 경쟁력을 강화하며 빠르게 성장하고 있다.

전북대 문화융복합아카이빙연구소는 최근 4년간 국제학술포럼 JIC(Joint International Conference)를 지속적으로 개최하며 글로벌 학술 네트워크를 확장해왔다.

기록관리학과 역시 글로컬대학30 사업 지원을 받아 2025년 베트남 호치민 반히엔대학교와 글로벌 PBL(Project-Based Learning) 캡스톤 프로젝트를 운영하며 국제 공동교육 모델을 구축한 바 있다. 특히 이번 협약은 베트남 현지에 연구교수로 파견 중인 양동민 교수의 적극적인 홍보와 지속적인 교류 활동이 결실을 맺은 사례로 평가된다.

이번 MOU는 단순한 학술 교류를 넘어 학생들의 배움과 성장, 자기주도적 학습 역량 강화를 공동 목표로 한 실질적 교육 협력 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 의미가 크다. 연구소와 학과가 각각 협약을 체결함으로써 학술 연구 교류와 학생 중심 교육 프로그램을 동시에 확대할 수 있는 이중 협력 구조를 구축했다는 평가다.

양 기관은 첫 실천 사업으로 올여름 글로벌 PBL 캡스톤 프로젝트 ‘로컬 스토리텔링(Local Storytelling)’을 공동 추진할 예정이다. 해당 프로젝트는 지역의 역사·문화 자원을 발굴하고 이를 창의적으로 재해석하는 과정을 통해 학생들의 문제 해결 역량과 국제 협업 경험을 강화하는 데 목적을 두고 있다.

김 건 전북대 문화융복합아카이빙연구소장은 “이번 협약을 계기로 학생 중심의 국제 실무 프로젝트와 국제 공동연구를 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획”이라며 “이를 통해 아시아를 넘어 세계로 확장되는 교육·연구 협력의 모범 사례를 구축해 나가겠다”고 말했다.



Jeonbuk National University Signs International Cooperation MOU with Duy Tan University


Jeonbuk National University’s Institute for Cultural Convergence Archiving (Director: Professor Kim Geon) and the Department of Records and Archives Management (Chair: Professor Oh Hyo-jung) announced on the 23rd that they had recently signed separate memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with the Korean Language Program under the Faculty of Language and Social Humanities at Duy Tan University in Da Nang to strengthen international exchange and cooperation.

Duy Tan University is one of Vietnam’s leading private universities, ranked within the top 500 in the 2026 QS World University Rankings and in the 601–800 band of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. The university has been rapidly strengthening its international competitiveness through practice-oriented education.

Over the past four years, Jeonbuk National University’s Institute for Cultural Convergence Archiving has continuously hosted the Joint International Conference (JIC), an international academic forum, while expanding its global academic network.

Supported by the Glocal University 30 initiative, the Department of Records and Archives Management also developed a model for international collaborative education by operating a global project-based learning (PBL) capstone project with Van Hien University in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025. In particular, this agreement is regarded as the result of active outreach and sustained exchange efforts by Professor Yang Dong-min, who is currently serving as a visiting research professor in Vietnam.

This MOU is significant in that it goes beyond simple academic exchange and establishes a practical foundation for educational cooperation aimed at enhancing students’ learning, growth, and self-directed learning capabilities. By having both the institute and the department sign separate agreements, the partnership has established a dual cooperation framework that can simultaneously expand academic research exchange and student-centered educational programs.

As their first joint initiative, the two institutions plan to launch the global PBL capstone project Local Storytelling this summer. The project is designed to strengthen students’ problem-solving abilities and international collaboration experience by discovering regional historical and cultural resources and creatively reinterpreting them.

Kim Geon, director of the Institute for Cultural Convergence Archiving at Jeonbuk National University, said, “Starting with this agreement, we plan to continuously expand student-centered international practical projects and joint international research. Through this, we aim to build a model case of educational and research cooperation that extends beyond Asia to the global stage.”
